FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Giving Back Foundation created to help ranchers, farmers affected by fires.

This summer when devastating fires roared across the west, from California to Nebraska, Montana to Texas, Alberta, Canada to Kansas, many farmers and ranchers lost livestock, hay, pasture, fence and winter feed. Many of these producers will have a hard time putting their ranches back together. Now there's a way to give back to those producers who feed the world, but lost so much during the destructive fires or other natural disasters. It's called the Giving Back Foundation.

The Giving Back Foundation is offering two wonderful ways to enjoy great music-a two-set compact disc and a live concert-and at the same time make a contribution to help those who suffered losses get back on their feet, onto their horses and into their tractors.

An appreciation Giving Back Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 13 during the Montana Stock Growers Association Annual Convention in Billings. The concert starts at 7 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Grand Montana and features Ringling 5, Ken Overcast, Kail Mantle, Rusty Feathers, Open Range and TJ Casey. In addition, there will be a huge silent auction with many donated western items.

Twenty-four western singer/songwriters and cowboy poets have donated their talent for the Giving Back Foundation by creating a two-compact disc set of western music and cowboy poetry. It will be for sale nation wide around mid-December, with all proceeds going to help those producers suffering serious losses from Mother Nature. Participating artists include R.W. Hampton, R.J. Vandygriff, Ken Overcast, Eli Barsi, Kail Mantle, Ringling 5, Dan Miller, Palo Duro, Jim Reader, Open Range, Sisters of the Silver Sage, Doris Daley, Barry Ward, Jeff Gore and Donnie Blanz along with cowboy poets Delbert Shields, Rusty Feathers, Jay Snider, Terry Henderson, Geff Dawson, T.J. Casey, Bill Clark, Sam Noble, Margaret Wilhelm and Rhonda Stearns.

Cowboy, horse trainer and performer TJ Casey started the concept of the Giving Back Foundation when he talked to producers across the west and realized a strong need to show appreciation for their hard work and what they provide.

"Every man, woman, and child in this country depends greatly on the farmer or rancher for their food and clothes," notes Casey. "Without the rancher and farmer, this country would fold up and suffer great losses. The rancher and farmer have been giving to this great nation for years and it's time that we gave back to them. Money raised by the non-profit Giving Back Foundation will be distributed to farmers and ranchers in need all over the west."

Tickets for the Giving Back Concert are $10 and the event is open to the public. Once the CD is available, it will sell for $24.95 and be available from Montana Stockgrowers Association.

"Join the fun," urges Casey. "Attend this concert, buy a CD and let the farmers and ranchers know that we are here for them as they have been for us."

To date, supporters include Montana Stock Growers Association, Northern Ag Network, Northwest Farm Credit Services, Montana Farm Bureau Federation, Cow Camp Communications, APEX, Martin Guitar and Billings Education Academy.

Donations are being accepted by the Giving Back Foundation c/o Montana Stock Growers Assn., 420 N. California St., Helena, MT 59601. For more information call 406-442-3420.
